Country musician Lily Grace may only be 15, but already she is receiving praise from an industry heavyweight. The Gold Coast teen will on Saturday perform alongside veteran country musician James Blundell in front of 250 people at Burleigh Heads.
The pair recently penned a song together over video conference that will be played to the crowd, and the track is already turning heads, Blundell says.
“She just had this really great idea about an outsider who was introduced into a family environment that created all sorts of havoc,” he said.
“We put it to a fairly jaunty tune, although the subject matter is pretty tough.”
“I love playing it. It’s getting a really good reception. I’m very excited to play it live.”
Grace, a student, took an interest in music at age 10, before falling in love with country music.
“I definitely want to be a country music artist,” she said. “I want to go to Nashville and write my own songs there. That’s my dream.”
Grace said she had been taking tips of Blundell – a country music icon – who told her to be authentic and enjoy the journey. Blundell praised Grace for her passion and high work ethic.
The pair will perform at Burleigh Bazaar from 6pm on Saturday (13th March 2021).
